Dear God, One Callback Would Be Nice. Is That Too Much To Ask?!

Hey, Colleen here.

I think we might possibly be having a mental breakdown. So, we decided to make a video of us wasting time, waiting for the phone to ring.

Check it out.

And yes, I know, we aren't normal.

Two New Videos

Hey everybody, Suzanne here.
Here's a summary of things that have happened lately.
- We've gotten lost. Oh what a surprise. My mother is now an expert at u-turns and we're getting used to being flipped off and cursed at. We even have some amazing ways of responding like the "smile and wave."
- Dad came to visit. We ventured to San Diego and had a great time! We can't wait for him to come back. We met a creeper with him too. A biker followed us on the street telling us a story about how redheads originated. It was strange and creepy but kind of amazing at the same time.
- We met CHARLIE from NUMBERS in an apple store at The Grove. Numbers is basically our favorite show on television!  (if you don't watch, he plays the lead character. Side note: you are SERIOUSLY deprived if you don't watch and you should feel like you're missing out, because you are.) He was a very cool guy!
- We went to Paramount studios for an audition. It was really cool! We didn't see any celebrities, though.
- We tried to walk to the Oscars. We mapped it out and everything. What we didn't figure out was that the sidewalk ended halfway through. Yes, that's right, the sidewalk ended. Therefore, we did not make it to the Oscars but watched it on tv and had an intense scrabble match with our friends Alex, Ryann and Ryann's mom Evie. Funniest people we've ever met. (Ryann and I won scrabble because we're AMAZING.)
- We've seen the bearded man about 10 times since we made the video.
- We ate SUSHI! Can you believe it? We're picky eaters and LOVED IT!

Anyway, I've probably left out a lot of things, but this is all I can think of at the moment.
Enjoy the videos!

Will write soon.
Suz.

Talking dog...and...surprise....we're still getting lost

We’ve been busy out here. Auditions are trickling in. Had fun over the weekend. Stumpled upon downtown Burbank when we made a wrong turn last week (surprise we were lost again) so we returned there to walk around and check out all of the stores. Nice area with lots and lots of little shops and restaurants but we ended up at the Outback for dinner again. They are getting to know our names in there! While out last week (with our friend from New York who is out here for pilot season also) we met a lady with a dog who talked. No kiddin’ it really talked. The dog asked, “How are you?” to each of us. Almost died! Coolest dog we’ve ever met except for Shamus :-)! We tried SUSHI for the first time ever and ….. LOVED IT!!!!! Our friends did all of the ordering and didn’t tell us what we ate until we were done…thank God! We’re still lost 90% of the time but there are benefits cause we’re finding some really great places to visit on the weekends. Speaking of which, Dad is coming out this weekend so we are psyched. We’re gonna take him all over to see the tourist things. We haven’t done any of the studio tours yet (even though we have been to some of them for auditions) so we are going to drag him around. We can’t wait to see him and already don’t want him to leave to go home! We’re gonna post a video later this week so keep your eyes peeled. Thanks for checking up on us…until we talk again, take care!

Youtube is frustrating.

Hey everyone. We have a new video but are unable to upload it which has made for a frustrating two days. Apparently, even though we credited the music we used, it's flagging the videos so we can't upload anymore. If anyone knows how to fix this, let us know!

Our First Pilot Audition...

Hey, Colleen here. We haven't done a video in a few days.  We're finally moved into our new apartment. They put us in a very college oriented area. Everywhere you look you see New York film Academy students.  Overall, they are behaving (much better than I will in college, Just kidding).

We had our first pilot audition today and we both feel pretty good about it. It's feels really good to start off pilot season with a great audition.  Tomorrow we have a big audition that's very TOP SECRET. Just kidding, it's just a big one. We aren't sure what it entails, will fill you in tomorrow.

The weather here is amazing. It's unheard of to see miserable people. When we do see someone who looks miserable, we kind of want to slap them. Do they know how cold it is in Jersey? do they understand that people are battling the ice instead of sunshine? Jesus, some people are so hard to please.

We went to the Grove on Saturday with one of our friends out here. We all decided to go there because "all the famous people go there." Too bad we DIDNT see ONE FAMOUS PERSON. Ridiculous. We heard someone famous was there on Sunday. We never have the right timing. We did see a dog with skin tight jeans on. That dog's jeans fit better than our jeans have ever fit. We can't help but wonder if they were custom made.

Thanks for the comments! We hope you enjoy the blog. We will fill you in tomorrow.

Hopefully Suz will post a more interesting blog tomorrow.

The Creature in Need of a Manicure........

This is Sooz - Today went well BUT and it is a BIG BUT tonight is not going so well. While watching TV we heard a creature in the kitchen/hallway. A creature with very long claws apparently because the scratching sounds were way louder than the television. Suz had a meltdown and was running away while Col tried to stay calm somewhat. I was disconnected from the emergency number for the apt twice and finally a very nice security guy arrived to save us. He was going to be my hero until he told me to clear the way to the door and hold the door open because he was running if it was a rat like he suspected. That was very reassuring. Of course the scratching stopped and there were no signs of a creature in the apt. Security was very nice but didn't have an answer until........we started crying....yes all three of us at the same time. You know how men like that. Suddenly we were given the keys to a new apt in another building. Problem is not solved yet but hopefully tomorrow morning the manager and I will come to an understanding quickly that we need to be moved. Wish us luck! If not we will be sleeping in the car for the rest of the trip.

Santa on acid reappears!

Suzanne here. Nothing really "blog" worthy has happened so far. Our darling mother has been forcing us to do schoolwork (which isn't terribly fun...at all.) and we've been spending most of our time walking. But it's not just walking across the street or to the store. No, no, it's walking six miles (and I'm not over-exaggerating, we measured the distance) to Trader Joe's because it's "great exercise."
On our way to Trader Joe's, Santa on acid (aka the "Bearded Man") appeared and was walking across the street from us. And to our surprise, upon our return, Santa was sitting on the sofa in the lobby of the complex. It was quite strange and amazing at the same time.
Tomorrow we have a meeting with our agent to renew our contract and hopefully we'll be really, really busy for the next few months.
Videos are on their way soon.

We're flakes.

Colleen here.  So here's a few things I've learned about the people/things in LA:

-seeing men with three foot beards is a normal thing for LA natives.  Facial hair is apparently a trend that the majority of men here "rock".
-pumping gas is much harder than it looks.
-traffic is ridiculous.
-LA drivers are afraid of weather. Plain and simple. that's the only excuse for the unnecessary traffic jams.
-Every single store sells wine. Does that tell you something? Mom is happy about it.
-Sign spinning is a craft that kids here take very seriously.
-Target stores are crowded like christmas time in Jersey all the time.

Check out the video for details on what I'm talking about.

So here's the lowdown:

Yesterday afternoon we went to meet with our agent and talk about the future few months.  She and her staff seemed excited for us to be out here.  She even came in to the office just to see us. What an honor.

They sent us on our first LA/Pilot season audition right after the meeting.  We think it went well. It's very different out here - they have a weird sort of lingo that we haven't really gotten yet.

Will write again soon. Next post will be much more interesting. Hopefully.
-Colleen. :)

enjoy.

Only Us

Only happens to us...
  • Who has three bags overweight? We do. And we get fined $25 a bag. Only us.
  • For the first leg of our trip for four hours straight a woman ripped (not cut) coupons out of newspapers. Yes, that's right. Ripped. Chinese newspaper torture. Only us.
  • We arrive in LA to our usual one bag missing. Of course it was Colleen's beloved guitar. Mom stomps away ready to kill. And finds it in the middle of the airport all by itself on the floor. No idea how it got there. Only us.
  • Nicest limo driver with state of the art GPS gets lost in the middle of LA. Yep, that's right. Only us.
  • We arrive at our apartment complex, prepared to check in. Mom goes inside to check in leaving us to guard our luggage outside right next to a massive mosquito nest. Only us.
  • Mom tries to check in and credit card has a seizure because its being flagged for fraud. Yes, that's right, fraud. Only us.
  • Arrived in our room to unpack and Dad being the great guy he is, repacked our clothes, which resulted in two hours of fighting about who's black shirt was who's. Only us.
  • Only saving grace for Mom ... the store sells wine.
